What do you tell your son, Graham, before a race like this one? And does he listen?

Well, I was just going to say, you know, most sons don't, you know, I can tell them whatever I want.

And, you know, how much of it actually gets through or he respects, I'm not sure.

But, no, I mean, especially he's been racing IndyCars almost 20 years now, even though he's only 37 years old.

So, you know, he's, as I say, he's pretty experienced.

I mean, I still will say, hey, you know.

You know, give yourself a little room.

What kind of perspective does it give you when you know that he is right there just across the Potomac from this racetrack?

What was it about the design and the build of that car that I'm going to say probably gave you the best or most unfair advantage over the rest of the field?

Well, there were a lot of those cars in the race, so it's not like I had the only one.

But we had such a good team, and it was called True Sports.

Steve Horn was the team manager, and he was just a real pro.

And an engineer named Grant Newberry.

You know, the year before, in 1984 and 85, the famous Adrian Newey was my engineer.

And we had a lot of success together, and we built up a fabulous relationship.
