11:47
For those who aren't familiar with the National Center for Healthy Veterans, give us that first.
11:52
Well, sure.
11:53
Well, our bumper sticker is Returning Healthy Veterans to America, and that's exactly what we do.
11:57
We're seeing Red Zone veterans come to us.
12:00
We do a lot of due diligence on who we bring in.
12:03
They're unemployed, no homes, severe trauma, fractured families, whatever.
12:09
We call them Red Zone, generally speaking.
13:10
And before we get to the barn raising, if someone wants to help support someone that's coming there to be with you for that time period, do they just make a general donation to Healthy Veterans at the website? Can they sponsor a particular person or, you know, how does that work?
4:03
Uh, when the mission is this heavy and the outcomes are measured and lives restored, how do you keep yourself and your team grounded without being crushed by the weight of it? Because, um, it is pretty extensive, I'm sure.
4:20
Well, it is.
4:21
And yet, I mean, uh, At the very first, I knew that we needed to be a faith-based organization.
4:29
And when I say faith-based, we don't have any acid tests for people that come to us, but we do have an acid test for our staff.
4:37
And we are distinctly Christian, and we maintain a very affirming, positive, loving environment.
4:44
Many of the veterans that come onto property at the National Center for Healthy Veterans don't realize what the dynamic is, but they suddenly see that some people are loving them, perhaps for the first time in their whole lives.
5:03
Some people are responding affirmatively to them.
8:48
I see.
28:53
Bob, when you step back and reflect on your life of service, and by the way, thank you for your service, but just it hits a little differently for those who have served and those who serve.
29:04
Well, it certainly does.
29:05
I mean, we're familiar that freedom is not free, and you think about all the heroics, all the noble causes and sacrifices, and yet also the pain that many of our people have expressed, experienced over the years.
29:19
But the two-fifthiest, it's just incredible.
29:21
You know, we are the greatest nation in the world.
29:23
That's not in doubt.
29:25
But we are a nation that's not perfect.
33:39
Bob, take us down those roads because we can't let our veterans get left behind, especially when they come home and they try reintegration and it's so difficult for them.
25:08
Gold Star families, just some reflections from your heart about them and the impact on them and how we can really in times like this, you know, bring honor to them.
25:21
Well, our hearts break when we see a new Gold Star family or the ones that exist already.
25:28
You know, I think Gold Star families, I often say there's nothing harder than loving a soldier, sailor, airman, Marine, guardsman.
25:37
And as you have loved that one and you've released them to go overseas and serve the nation and then they never come home.
25:46
It's such a such a heavy burden to go with the rest of your life.
25:53
You will never forget that.
25:55
And yet you learn to reshape it.
26:49
Tell us about it.
39:14
Just some reflections from you as you look at where our country's at, where you think we're going.
39:20
Yeah.
39:21
Well, I think we've had a serious erosion of some of our moral high ground over the last decade or so.
39:30
And it would be nice to get that back.
39:33
But elections in this country, you know, have consequences.
39:39
And I think Christians and conservatives need to act maturely We need to clean up the civil discourse because it says in the good book, it says, be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to get angry.
39:55
And that's what we need to model as citizens.

7 MINS LATER

46:45
But Bob, tell us a little bit about the organization, mission, and what you're praying God really does in and through her.
