And thus you, as a Latter-day Saint, are contradicting the model of salvation put forth by Paul in the New Testament.

What we have here is a failure to communicate, to quote a famous movie line.

The way that Paul is using justified is not to be saved the way that he's using it.

To be justified, put back into what Paul is writing, and let me put my cards on the table.

I would say there's about a 65% chance that Paul did not write Ephesians, okay? So there's a real possibility it's a pseudo-Pauline letter.

I'd say the weight is against Paul being the author, but let's just assume for now that Paul is the author.

And what is being stressed in this context is, is something that a number of scholars, beginning in the late 1990s and through the present, place into what is called the new perspective on Paul.

And I end up being like, there's not a really significant difference here when you're looking at it in that way.
