This week on Horror Joy, we soar headlong into our series on witches.

Christianity's, and more broadly the West's, obsession with witchcraft goes back to the Middle Ages.

But then we are just brought back to a family that has turned against each other, where Samuel has disappeared long ago at this point.

You know, that's early in the film.

Caleb then has been... taken by a witch but then is brought back and then has that those really horrific scenes where he is just like yelling out and asking like my jesus to save me and stuff like that after he's like throwing up some strange things at one point too these crazy twin girls are yelling about Black Phillip there, the family goat being Satan, and that turns out to be true, spoiler alert, or some type of Satanic being.

Goats, man, ghosts are creepy.

It's a very deep and thoughtful movie about witches.

That's like the coolest scene ever at the end when he, would you like to live deliciously?

That solidified it as a great movie to me.

I think, again, the primary horror of the witch is not the witch.

The primary horror of the witch is not Black Phillip.

The primary horror of the witch is her dad.

And that's really what we're anchoring on.
