And so we'd love to hear a little bit more about how you got into tennis and how that worked its way through your college career, perhaps even into coaching?

Yes, I think that's probably very important because it really is what created my philosophy with the game and sort of oriented me in a specific direction, which I've stayed with for as long as I've been teaching.

So it was very fortunate.

I grew up in New Jersey way back in 1940, And it was an interesting time in the Northeast because we didn't have many indoor facilities at that time.

And I grew up in a metropolitan area called Maplewood, which was a commuter zone to New York City.

And we had a good school system, fortunately.

that allowed, I think, tremendous growth and some habits that I was able to form early on that were very fortunate.
