Fast-forward to about 10 years ago when I was rehearsing with my band for Sunday services, uh, and this was like on a Thursday night in the summer.

My bass player showed up with a nine millimeter semi-automatic handgun, and it just blew me away.

I mean, it really stopped me in my tracks.

And I asked the guy, you know, uh, we, we, we were tight, you know, and I said, "Well, why are you-- Why? [laughs] Just, just why?" You know, "Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace, why are you carrying this weapon?" And he kind of stammered his way through a rather lame explanation, and he had all the paperwork and permits to, to conceal that weapon.

But, um, that was a really eye-opening, uh, episode for me, and I soon thereafter realized that he was just one of many, many in my large evangelical church who came to church even on Sunday mornings with a gun.

Yeah.
