What can you tell me? What's going on?
65:28
Yeah, no, thanks for asking, Mike.
65:30
And to your point, it's a...
65:34
It's a group of individuals who've been in the conservation space and really care about our natural resources and really the economy that is built around our natural resources, right? We've got a $15 billion, with a B, legislative, or excuse me, outdoor recreation economy in Michigan.
65:55
And one of the holes, if you will, that a group of us have seen that's been missing in this space is a group that will help our legislators realize the importance of the outdoor recreation economy and our natural resources.
66:17
And we came together and formed Michigan Leaders for Conservation.
66:21
Now, Michigan Leaders for Conservation is a political action committee.
68:56
That would be wonderful.

you?
10:44
Slightly, but my name, it was so hard to pronounce, so difficult for you Americans to spell, I decided to take one of your names.
10:50
So, I'm Bill Jackson.

11 MINS LATER

21:47
To forget to declare it?
21:49
Yes, forget.
21:52
I think we can do business, Mr. Blackburn.
21:56
How much do you want to spend? I can put my hands on $50,000.
22:00
I can let you have twice that amount in jewelry, Mr. Blackburn.
15:19
[sighs] Why won't this thing go away? It keeps getting defeated.
15:25
You know, I, I think there's a couple of things here, Mike.
15:28
I think there is...
15:28
Number one, I think there's a strong emotional attachment that legislators get to this, to this heritage industry when the commercial fishermen come in and sort of tell their story.
15:41
And it sort of nags on their heartstrings, and they're like, "I gotta do something about this." And one of the ways we continue to defeat this legislation year and year again is we tell our story in sport anglers.
15:55
And we talk about, look, man, we've got a 5.4 billion, $5.1 billion sport fishing industry that anglers have paid to build over the last 60 years.
16:07
And when we tell that story, it does, it does sort of chip away, if you will, at the, um, at the emotional attachment that legislators get to this heritage industry.

11 MINS LATER

27:09
Um, tell me more about that and, and where, and what's the status on that these days, Bill?
