Bethany Samuelson Bannow and Maureen Achebe on classical haematological disease in women
3:41
In terms of the structure of the commission, which includes seven topical sections across the lifespan of women's health, what in your opinion are some of the underlying themes that emerged about how different women experience different hematological conditions?
3:59
So, you know, I think the obvious things are periods and pregnancy, right? And bleeding and clotting that relate to that and to different hormonal therapies.
4:12
Maybe not as good at addressing them as perhaps we should be, but we're at least aware of them.
4:17
I think themes that came out in addition to that were, you know, sometimes symptoms present differently even across things not related to periods and pregnancy, right? So, like, you know, hemophilia in women doesn't necessarily present as joint bleeds.

[laughs] Bethany, what would you say was the most surprising outcome or finding of the project? Were there any aspects about the commission that you thought were particularly challenging?
