how about yourself burt and john

i feel like for me personally i i had like stepped away from my my hard rock records if not have sold a lot of them and not that this is just like kind of pure bonehead, but it was nice to start playing like heavy music again and try to like constantly search for that balance of like heaviness and melody and whether it's like a guitar riff or vocals and stuff and trying to find those in like older records has always been fun.

I work at a record store, so I'm like listening to music every day.
11:18
and constantly like discovering new things every day and and it's fun to just pull from a Tom Petty record as much as you'd pull from like a UFO record you know even if it's not as deliberate as like I'm gonna like pirate this riff or something but uh You know, we're at this point like everything's been done and we're all kind of just scavengers.

And Callum, as far as collaboration goes, like he's like Charles said has such a distinct vision and it's cool to kind of be like, we're letting you run with your thing.
11:55
Like, we've been, like, obviously in the conversation with him, but, like, letting him take the reins with a lot of stuff, and that's been a really cool experience.

Turning to you, Bert, in terms of putting the album itself together, as opposed to those singles, was that more of like a difficult process or was it kind of like you were all head screwed on and ready to, you know, maybe not quite so instant, but pretty sharpish anyway? Was it much of a process or...?
43:23
Yeah, I mean, I imagine it was kind of the same and just a way more condensed period of time with more songs.
