Well, first, there's, like, a literal breadcrumb trail from book to book.

So Hell Bent, it was very much like an immersive journalism project, and it was ostensibly about competitive yoga, but also really broke the story of Bikram Yoga, y- you know, Bikram Choudhury, who's the guru behind Bikram Yoga, who's the guru behind hot yoga.

You know, all forms of hot yoga, uh, kind of stem from that, and competitive yoga is probably the most outlandish thing that, like, it, you know, is an attention-grabbing piece of that world.

It broke the story of his being a, a sexual predator, and that came through a lot of really immersive practices where I was de- I was pretty deep in that world, both for personal reasons, but also as a eyes-open journalist, and I gained a lot of trust from people who would talk about things that hadn't been talked about in that world before.
