Ep. 335 Diagnosis & Management of Neurogenic Bladder with Dr. Benjamin Brucker
25:44
39:43

Anjali KapurHOST
Are there any patients in the neurogenic population that you would offer these therapies in?
B
25:51Benjamin BruckerGUEST
Um, you know, by, yeah, FDA sort of clearance and sort of labeling, um, many of these therapies are not FDA approved for neurogenic bladders, right? So I think first and foremost, having that discussion with a patient to sort of say, "Hey, this is an off-label use." There are lots of things we use off label in terms of medications and imaging, et cetera.

With that said, there is a growing body of data, um, that says, hey, things like PTNS or probably by, by proxy tibial nerve stimulation and, and certainly sacral neuromodulation may have a role.

I think that we're sort of wrapping up a, a study now with the SUFU Research Network looking at neuromodulation in patients with MS.

So hopefully by SUFU this, uh, winter, we'll have a little bit more data that we'll be able to present about sort of the efficacy.

For those patients who have refractory stress incontinence, they're neurogenic, when is a point where you would consider bladder neck closure for these patients?
