He fills a position which, you know, i- is difficult to find players who, you know, left-sided center halves, you know, who are naturally left-footed who give you that balance.

Ben PurkissGUEST
And I guess sometimes when I look at the Northern Ireland team, I suppose whisper it relatively quietly but, you know, there's some, there's some, some good players at some good clubs there.

Ben PurkissGUEST
Charles the goalkeeper as well who I think Man City signed and he's now on loan at, at QPR who I think he's a really good prospect.

It does feel quite important though, doesn't it, Ben? 'Cause, 'cause of the break that Oxford have had and the fact that because they've played so few games, fewer than anyone else, that it kind of, you want to get that, those points on the board quickly, don't you? And get, get that momentum going again.

Ben, do we feel that Brandon Kiersmacker has got off a bit lightly here? I mean, it, it, clearly another one who wasn't committed to Oxford United and eventually has got his way.

Ben PurkissGUEST
Dunno whether it reflects the impact that he made at the football club, whether, you know, I thought his, United's performances were good without being outstanding.

Ben PurkissGUEST
I don't think he particularly had that real connection with the supporters, and I think maybe Stan Mills had that, having had a previous spell at the football club, returning, uh, y- you know, I, I, think and, and having had su- success in his first spell and then obviously having sh- demonstrated the promise that he, that he displayed particularly at the back end of last season.

Ben PurkissGUEST
Um, and I mean, I suppose to a point, you know, it, it, that there was a time for Stan, to be fair to him, when he, um, was out of the picture under Gary Rowett.

Ben PurkissGUEST
Just, you, you know, not wanting to talk about him too much, but probably didn't have the greatest time.

Ben PurkissGUEST
And actually, I remember the, I think the club was shopping him out to go out on a potential loan, um, at the start of last season.

Ben PurkissGUEST
So I, I guess just a point that I'd forgotten about in, in and amongst all our exhaustion around the Stan Mills saga that I was reflecting on during the week.

But, uh, yeah, a, I guess a difficult one to, to analyze, this one, for Oxford.
