And you can see his severed head later as well.

Yeah, that's in number two.

So as you said, these guys are going on their sex tourist thing.

They've got an Icelandic guy that they picked up along the way who I guess is a very famous Icelandic actor too, this guy.

um so they picked him up they're being wild they get thrown out of a bar for being jerks and uh some guy sees them on the street and uh tells them to hey come up and party with me in my in my little party pad up here they go up this guy's uh from Czechoslovakia uh no he's Slovakian that's a different country apparently so he's Slovakian and he convinces the guys that they need to go to Bratislava to continue the party And so these guys do, and going to Bratislava, going from Prague, which is where I believe they were, to Bratislava is like, I mean, it's like going from Detroit into Flint, Michigan, okay? If that makes sense to people who are listening.

It's an industrial area.

It looks gross.

What did you think of the torture scenes in this movie?

What do you, what do you think of it?

Well, first of all, it's very Canadian.

Filmed in Vancouver.

Lots of Canadian stars in it.

We've got Catherine Isabel from Ginger Snaps.

We've got Brendan Fletcher who's in practically anything that's a horror thing that's filmed in Vancouver.

He's in Green Room.

a fine so it's kind of a draw a bit jason kind of wins um but overall like it was there's no way they could have really satisfied people because the movie had been in development hell they've been trying to get it going for so long spaces he's dead like 20 years earlier um or almost like 15 years or whatever it was that there was no way it was going to be like as epic as everyone built it up to be but it was like it's still a good movie

That's what it is.

Yeah, I agree.

I did like the fact that they made him a little smarter and they made him do traps.

And he was a lot crueler in this movie.

He was a lot meaner, more mean-spirited.

In the first four movies, before we started getting wild in the Friday the 13th series, he was brutal in the respect that he was just unapologetically just mowing down people.

But he wasn't...

in the lovely year of 2001 this movie came out and completely ignores everything that happened before it because jason has been camp jason has been captured at some point in time i believe they said he was captured in the early 2000s in this movie because now it actually takes place in 2010 uh so he's been captured and he's been held at the crystal lake research facility and They're also ignoring...

So, first of all, it's wild that they're ignoring everything that happened before it.

Because at this point in time, this Jason also isn't an undead guy.

He's a guy who's unkillable.

And in fact, he's so unkillable that they've managed to capture him.

They've tried to execute him a bunch of times.

So,

But not only that, which is stupid on itself, but also Jason can only be killed apparently by a member of his own family.

And so the bounty hunter, the first time we see the bounty hunter, he's telling us that Jason isn't who we think he is.

Jason is an ancient evil.

Jason Voorhees is just the body that he's wearing.

If that's the case, then why in the hell does a Voorhees need to kill the ancient evil? If Voorhees is just a body that he's wearing, why is it tied to this bloodline somehow? It doesn't make any sense even in its own rules.

Just like you said, it's so crazy.

because he was going to do a live reality TV thing.

okay so it is so so the body is in the basement of the house where where it was found initially so the vorhees sister's house the vorhees uh the vorhees niece i guess jason's niece is there with her baby because the baby is another vessel that jason can use to come back to his to and that's the one that he wants to use i guess to come back um Everybody's all congregated in the one place.

And also Crystal Lake, somehow you could take a boat from there to New York City.

Yeah, it's connected to the ocean somehow, which is pretty wild.

And it didn't take all that long to get there, so.

Yeah, I thought it was very interesting.

I think this is Goopy Jason era.

Jason Voorhees spends the entire movie covered in goop.

He doesn't ever dry out from being underneath the lake.

She probably had teenage kids herself.

Ben, what, uh, what'd you think of Part 7?

Well, I think it was a choice.

It was definitely a choice to bring psychics into the mix.

Um, that was...

That's an interesting new way to go.

Uh, this is the first Friday the 13th movie that incorporates supernatural powers that don't belong to our villain.

Um, so yeah.

But, but overall, I find it a very fun installment.

What do you think of Friday the 13th Part 6?

So this is the first Kane Hodder one, isn't it? Or is he? No, next one is.

Oh, not yet.

Okay.

All right.

This is, well, I, I enjoyed this movie.

Um, it, I didn't necessarily like it as much as I liked five, five, I thought was like an eight out of 10, but I really thought that this one was quite good.

later on in the movie you see um a couple severed limbs and a pair of glasses so i think you're supposed to assume it was that guy but to me i was like did they just forget or run out of time and they didn't film that kill scene so they just ended it it seemed kind of like we were they cheaped out a little bit there

What do you think of part four there, Ben?

Part four is very interesting.

Part four is from 1984.

And it's the first appearance of the character that goes on to be, I think, the only mainstay other than Jason Voorhees himself, who's Tommy Jarvis, in the form of a very young Corey Feldman being as Corey Feldman as humanly possible in this movie, playing his usual character.

He's a kid where the first time we see him, he's wearing a monster mask playing Zaxxon, okay? Being Corey Feldman.

know it would be almost like the the beginning of goonies uh and except this one he wears his glasses um in this one they believe that jason vorhees has been killed uh at the by the events of number three and maybe he was i mean they they took his i would imagine that they took his pulse and all that sort of thing maybe he was killed i'm not sure but this one starts off in the morgue and uh and jason um It comes to life in the morgue and makes his way back to Camp Crystal Lake.

Yeah, he was kind of ineffective, and then he needs a 10-year-old boy to take care of business for

him.

What do you think of this one?

um so first of all i just watched it for i had thought that i had not seen this one when i started it up until i saw shelly and then i was like oh no and i've seen i've definitely have seen this one uh but yeah this one starts off interesting it definitely is a 3d movie um with all the 3D gags there are 3D gags for days in this movie let me tell you folks there's all sorts of things coming at the screen we got snakes coming at the screen we got eyeballs coming at the screen we got a yo-yo continuously coming across the screen for way too long there's all sorts of there's spears coming at the screen this movie we're starting to get towards the Jason that everyone knows and loves at this point in time there's a huge kill count in this one Um, there's also quite a bit of comedy when it comes to it.

Um, the first character, the first characters that we meet are, uh, the owners of a, of a grocery store in Crystal Lake.

And they're very funny.

I would not buy anything from their store because the guy of the, I believe his name, Harold, Harold is gross.

Harold walks around and eats part of the food from that he sells to customers and then puts it back and does all sorts of things.

Um, Harold and his wife.

Explain

So you started off Ben, what did you think about this one?

Well, Friday the 13th 2, I will say so far, is not my favorite.

And in this one, to set the stage, Alice is the final girl from the previous movie.

She wakes up in the hospital.

She's gone back to what appears to be a regular life, from what things appear to be.

And we start this movie off with her getting a screwdriver through the side of her head.

through some unseen assailant.

Now that you mention it, there does have to be a lot of traumatized people around that camp crystal league.

Like it was, it was, there is some good stuff there.

You brought up something very, very, very poignant there.

um it's like listening to iron maiden okay like listening to iron maiden's first album they haven't gotten bruce dickinson yet they still got that first guy paul diano i think his name was yeah he's okay but he's not he's not bruce dickinson right but then they work towards that and yeah you you got it right there um they definitely got a twist ending into this one this one had the one of the big twist endings when when it comes to when it comes to these sorts of things like if you've If you're a kid our age, the age that we were, and we weren't allowed to watch this movie when it first came out because I would have been three years old, right? So I wasn't watching this movie when I was three.

I was probably seeing Friday the 13th, five or six first.

you know around that age and then going back and seeing this one you're like oh my god spoilers for an almost 50 year old movie the killer is Jason Voorhees' mom Pamela okay so like spoilers for a 50 year old movie blah blah blah she makes cable knit sweaters very scary she wears a cable knit sweater that's very iconic in this but yeah big twist ending never would have seen that coming If you're a kid that's watching, that's seen the Jason movies first and go back and you're expecting to see Jason.

You don't see any of that in this movie.

You see this old lady up here at the end, like, who the hell is this lady? And then she goes after Adrian King with a machete, right? So, yeah, very interesting.

And all their fight scenes are actually very, very well staged for the limited money that they had to make the movie.
