Yeah.

And I can look back and go, I'm in a better place.
Ben Kay

So it's almost going through the process of being burned out, of having a pretty poor mental health state for a number of years, induced partly through work, significantly through work, to now go, I still have bad times.
Ben Kay

But...
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
3:06
I know that it will get better and it'll get worse again.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
3:11
And that's okay because the trajectory is forwards.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
3:15
So I'd say to anybody who's out there today, and we say these things like it's good to talk.
6:17
How is that sort of coming out for your team in your own journey? Is that sort of helping you help others see...
1:18
Yeah.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
1:19
And, you know, the reality of the mental health of the nation, it's, it's, it, it, it's worsening, and that gap is, is ever-increasing.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
1:27
So, you know, against that backdrop and recognizing that...
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
1:32
Let's, let's also be really honest.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
1:34
We aren't gonna see huge swathes of investment in, in public services, unfortunately.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
1:39
The money isn't there to do that.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
1:42
So we have to look and be creative and innovative about how we give people the support when and how they need it, which then bleeds us very naturally into that conversation around technology.
5:14
Like you say, it's not about having a common enemy, it's a common purpose around amplification and, and safety.
17:23
Where is the organisation in kind of how do we kind of acknowledge this how do we create that ethical kind of framework that evolves with the landscape and backdrop of technology
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
17:35
well big question big question and before i get into the kind of technology question um i think we need to almost take a step back and look at you know let's view this through the eyes of the people who need help that could be you or i lou it could be anybody who's within you know a mile radius of where we sit right now our needs are different our ability to access the support and services that we need at that point in time massively differ.
Ben Kay

18:04
And I see this ever-increasing gap in society between those that potentially can afford to go to a private therapist and pay.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
18:16
And let's be honest, it's not cheap for an ongoing conversation.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
18:20
And it's hugely valuable, don't misunderstand me, but not everybody has that ability has that ability to access.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
18:28
And as we know, from a public health perspective, services are constrained.
Ben Kay
Ben KayGUEST
18:33
And whilst the new prime minister is making some good direction, good intent, we have a big societal gap.
