everybody what happens in the scene.
48:49
So in the scene, George is wandering through town, frustrated.
48:55
We don't know why, but he's frustrated.
48:58
And he finds himself at Mary's house.
49:02
And he sort of knocks on the door, and he walks in, but he is sullen.
49:06
He is like a caged tiger.
49:09
And he's frustrated.
52:11
He
27:36
Mm-hmm.
27:36
And that could be a problem given some of the downsides of interacting with AI.
27:41
We've alluded to them, but let's list them.
27:43
One, you can tailor-make an AI to be the person that you want.
27:49
Humans, you can't.
27:50
So if you decide that that's your habit, like, "Oh, I only want to interact with interaction partners that I can tailor to my needs," well, that's not a great way to live in the world.
27:58
A related downside is AI has no limits.

25 MINS LATER

52:35
But this idea of, like, how much of the time when we're interacting with whatever the entity is, whether it's a book about sexy fairies or, you know, romantic AI, how much of the time are we thinking, "This feels real," and how much of the time are we thinking, "I know this thing, this book I'm holding, this chatbot I'm interacting with, I know that they're not an actual living, breathing person"? So yeah, Ben, could you elaborate on that idea?
9:11
[upbeat music] A good fight isn't about who's right, but it's about making things better for both partners, which means another thing that Ben is looking for is, are you thinking about you and your partner as a team with a problem that you've got to solve together or not so much?
9:33
The pitfall is that the problem is between us, or worse, the problem is you.
9:39
So if I say, "This is a problem, and you know what? You sh- you need to solve it.
9:43
You need to s- shape up." Here's another clue.
9:47
Asking curious questions is a way of bringing my partner in.
9:51
It's a clue that I want to be on the same page with you.
9:55
So asking you a question, "Well, what does being clean mean to you?" or, "You know, w- what kind of sex life would be ideal for you?"
13:49
I don't care."
