What
5:19
about you, Dan? Oh, what about me? Well, I've been kind of what I would call a photographer for, I don't know, it must be going on for like 20 years or something.
5:34
I've kind of always done it throughout my life.
5:39
My dad had always like been into cameras, but I would never, I wouldn't have said he was a photographer, but like he was always into like tech and stuff.
5:49
So he always had interesting cameras and stuff.
5:54
And yeah, like whenever he got a new one, I'd have his old one and I'd play around with it.
6:00
So yeah, I've kind of been doing that for quite a while.

yeah what do we do
17:41
So in terms of leading the subject itself this is quite a broad question this ben i appreciate that there's many avenues you might go down and it probably is context dependent but in theory though what should every primary pe lead be trying to build in their school you know what are they actually trying to achieve and do do you think come let's say for those pupils when they're leaving
18:04
I think, and this kind of harnesses my kind of secondary PE leadership experience.
18:11
The biggest thing for primary PE leads to try and instill is consistency of experience and that equity that every child in that school, regardless of the teacher taking the lesson, regardless of the time of year, regardless of the facility being used, has a similar positive PE experience every single time they begin their PE lesson.
18:32
Now that is a pie in the sky kind of theory that every single lesson is going to be completely high quality, really positive because we know there's barriers.
18:41
We know there might be, it might start bucketing it down halfway through PE lesson.
18:46
We know that the stage might be up from the beginning of December and it might half the whole space.
18:52
There's lots and lots of barriers in there.

27:12
How do we know, how does a PE lead know if PE is truly having an impact? Again, is it just more audits? What does it look like, sound like, feel like in a school if PE is having an impact and it's working and we're actually on the upwards trend?
26:26
Yep.
26:26
And I've worked a lot with Rhys, uh, last couple years doing more and more international stuff.
26:31
I mean, the guy's done World Cups.
26:32
I mean, he's, he's done Six Nations.
26:34
He's done it all.
26:36
Um, there's some of our tape ops that have been on those kind of crews and know the sport, and I think that's important.
26:42
Um, and Hamish, uh, he's the, the main camera op, and unbelievable guy, incredibly talented, again like Rhys.
31:39
Does it mean something extra when you get to call a, a championship match?
1:04
No, no, yeah, what drew you into rugby? I mean, you, you must have had to learn it e- even to commentate, you know?
1:10
Well, I've been in television for 30, about 32 years, so, uh, been a play-by-play guy.
1:16
Started doing that full time for a living in, in 2004.
1:20
I was in local, uh, sports in Lansing, Michigan, my hometown, uh, where Michigan State is, for six years, and Comcast started a network in, in Detroit, and, and I wanted to call games for a living.
1:32
So, um, interestingly enough, um, you know, one of the things I said to you was, I go, "Well, obviously you're a Seattle supporter, uh, with your shirt," which is cool.
1:42
And I'm a big fan of, of Clarkie and their, their outfit.
1:45
But, uh, my first rugby match, I was at CBS for 13 years.
5:19
Yeah
