So, yeah, could you just give us a bit of a lowdown on what you've been doing since you've been an adult?

Yeah, it's a long and potted history.

But as some of the listeners will know, I mean, I'm a qualified actuary by profession.

And my first proper job after leaving university was actually at a regulator, the now defunct Personal Investment Authority, which became part of the FSA as it was then, and now FCA.

And my job was to work out how compensation claims for people who'd been missold their personal pensions, if you remember that whole issue going back into the 1980s and 1990s.

And so, yeah, that's where I cut my teeth in the defined benefit land and pension.

So qualified as an actuary, moved on to a couple of other sort of banks and insurance companies looking at the pensions review, because that was a multi-year sort of compensation effort, and then switched over to the investment side.

I mean, how nimble do you need to be, do you think, in terms of kind of understanding which pathway you're actually going to be on?
