Where did you go? Were there any tricks to it? Were there any bits that really took a while to get to sound how you wanted?

So the track was written, as you mentioned, after the conclusion of a long-term relationship and I was 21, almost 22, and I felt like There was a lot of change in my life and a lot of cool things were happening and I was really happy about it, but I felt like those things differed from maybe what I'd expected for myself.

And so there was this element of while I was feeling good, I felt like I shouldn't be.

I had expected for myself, which is where the line, I'm so disappointing to the girl I've outgrown comes from.

Yeah.

So I think I didn't really know I was feeling all that until one day I sat down and wrote this song and I wrote that line.
