[ on-hold music]

My name's Beau Morgan, and I'm a paramedic.

I've been doing disaster relief work on and off since 2016.

[rain falling] I was living here in Knoxville.

I went up, like, the day after the floods hit to try and make contact with a coworker's family that had gone missing.

[gentle music] I left around 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning, and would've left earlier, but it was so stormy.

I brought clean drinking water.

That's when the local reporter said, "Oh, my friend Beau had a story."
