But just so we're all sort of on the same page, can you try to give us a sense of who was Augustine, um, uh, uh, and, and what did he do? How did he sort of, uh, uh, spend, uh, you know, make his contribution to the Church?

Sure.

Um, so, uh, St. Augustine, uh, Augustine, Aurelius Augustine, was, uh, born in 354 in Northern Africa in, uh, modern-day, uh, I think it's modern-day Algeria, modern-day Tunisia.

And, um, in the sort of late antique- tique period, the, the Roman Empire.

Uh, and, uh, he, at a early stage in his life, he was, uh, considered to be a person of remarkable talent, great intellectual gifts.

And, uh, his parents, his father Patricius, um, who was, uh, somewhat of a, I think, a bureaucrat within the local government, and his mother Monica saw within him, um, maybe something of a ticket to, uh, to stardom or to, to, uh, elevate themselves because of his g- his gifts and his talents.

And they, um, uh, they, uh, encouraged him to pursue his academic, uh, studies.

So after all these years and, and in light of those things, um, how has Augustinian spirituality shaped, uh, you and, and your spiritual practice in particular?
