Yes, exactly.

Trust is such a big thing.

And it really came home to me how lucky we are in Australia because we, on the whole, emergency agencies have a fairly high rating in terms of trust.

But I was talking to a fellow for my book the other day, Fabio Silva from Portugal, who's a firefighter.

He's really interested in community engagement and the trust and that type of thing.

And it's completely different in Portugal because the Portuguese government has done the wrong thing, sometimes intentionally in the past, and they haven't had that stable relationship.

I w- have always worked in communication.

I started life as a journalist, and then I went through a number of communication jobs, and I ended up at Toowoomba City Council.

And a few people listening to this will remember the 2002 bushfires that we had down the range just before the terrible Canberra bushfire in 2003.

And as part of the district, as part of the Disaster Management Act in Queensland at that point, council comms teams would look after communication around any natural hazard that occurred.
