Any thoughts on that?

I don't even know what they'd say to me in the locker room then if I came back at 22, 23 years old, finishing my college career.

But I think first off, it's a weird feeling being a veteran in the locker room.

I've always felt like I've had to be a vet just playing a quarterback position and being a leader.

But actually having the years and experience under my belt is a weird feeling.

And The five-for-five rule has just got passed so recently, it hasn't even been something I've talked to my family or support system about.

I think we're so focused on this year and what we have ahead of us.

about you Avery and just playing the position where he was talking about you know like the second you start worrying about taking a hit or playing to not get hurt like everything just starts to kind of fall apart that has to feel pretty good like pretty freeing to know that he's going to support you in just laying it all out there each and every game day.

Anybody on the – well, I won't say anybody, but who on the defensive side of the ball kind of give you maybe the most fits during the spring since you guys were live a little bit?

Yeah, probably Zayshon.

I think Zayshon's the best corner in the Big 12 and one of the best corners in the country, and I don't think he gets enough credit.

And going against him, like seeing receivers go against him, he really can take away a receiver from the game and take out a guy's number one, and I think we'll watch him do that a lot in the fall.

So I think he needs to get a little bit more credit for what he can do.

And then I think our linebacker room is probably the deepest it's been since I've been at K-State.

We got like Rex and Gabe and Asa, those guys coming back.

We talked about this a little before we came on, but your hair in the video game,

What has gone wrong there and kind of sent you guys off the rails and ended up probably coming up short of where you wanted to be and thought you should be?

Yeah, well, I think two years ago we were 7-1 and got complacent and went over and played Houston and thought Houston was going to – Houston wasn't having the best year.

We thought Houston was going to roll over for us.

And we walked in there thinking we were going to just – They were going to hand us a win, and we got slapped in the face and then come back and lose to Arizona State, who was another 7-2 team at the time, but the nation wasn't giving them the credit that they deserved quite yet.

So we thought they were going to come into a night game at the Ville and roll over for us again and got slapped in the face once again.

So I think when you go from 7-1 – um, can kind of write your own course in the big 12 and play for a big 12 championship and then fall to ending up eight and four and losing a, uh, a pretty close game in Ames.

Then coming back fast forward into this year, not having the start we wanted and kind of feeling like, Hey, everything we worked all off season four is out the window.

Do you feel like this year's team is in a better position than the last two to get that

What was the process like when the season ended and you're trying to figure out the future? What was what was that like for Avery Johnson? How'd you go about handling that?

Yeah, first, it's just like utter surprise.

I mean, I think the whole like I was talking to coaches and players and stuff like that, like everybody was just caught caught.

And I think it was going to be announced later in the week, but somehow somebody caught word of it and it was leaked.

So started off in surprise.

And then now it's just like kind of a waiting game.

As you take a look at the offense, what was it like in the spring of ball season for this offense?
