So what's something that people might be surprised to learn about how your job works as the PA announcer?

Probably the amount of time that I put into the prep work.

When we look at broadcasting, especially like maybe specifically in my classes, you would automatically assume like PAs do the least amount of work.

When you have to do a play-by-play call or a sideline report call or... interview a coach you have to know a lot so when you think of PA you're like oh I just have to know the players names which it's a lot more than that I spend probably three hours in the middle of the week and two hours the night before a game making sure I have every single pronunciation down for players on both rosters obviously the legacy I've now come to know what what What game are we in? I'm not quite sure.

But when it comes to like, okay, Angel City FC, their website does not have their players saying their names.

So I go out and find a clip of what a broadcaster is saying or find them saying their own name in a video.

for every single player, whether that player's injured, on loan.

I think I said to you, Courtney, texting before the show that, like, i'd much rather see this team like play well and lose 3-1 than like not really play well and get like a scrappy 1-1 draw or something like that like i just want to see yeah exactly the things you said i want to see that this team is gelling and is performing and reasons for for hope for 2027 and beyond um yeah maybe we can find the you know three to five core players that are going to be definitely part of the starting 11 next season um and then we can find where those gaps are where we don't necessarily have the right player currently and you know have some some off-season targets for the uh the front office to go after uh what about you ava how did you feel about this game as a whole
