It was the summer between my senior year of high school and my freshman year of college.

it was the COVID pandemic.

And I had a profound sense of shame and guilt.

During the COVID pandemic, there was a slowing down of life and a lot of the noise of my everyday life had to be forcibly silenced.

And in that silence or in that slower pace of life, I was realizing this contradiction within myself where there was an image and a reputation that I had among my friends and my peers and the way that the world saw me on the outside.

And then what was the reality on the interior was I was a very broken person that I had manipulated my friends in big ways and small ways.

That inspiration to go to
