And that's certainly how I've been experiencing it.

I remember when we first had this conversation, we were in a soft debate around elder as role and elder as process and elder as spirit.

And at the time, I remember now sharing that I was exploring the idea that an elder spirit can inhabit a six-year-old and can queer our concept of roles in general.

And I think in terms of how Bayo had described it, I didn't listen to it yet, but just based on what you just said, I feel curious about that exploration of elder as bigger than... an individual person because I think of it almost as an assignment.

Like, you receive the assignment of being an elder, and that assignment may last six months, it may last 60 years, it may last five years, it may last a day.

But at least for me, my commitment is in allowing that spirit to inhabit me when and how it needs to.

Which means that like when we end the Zoom call, I may not be inhabited by any elder spirit.

Becoming or embracing elder in this time, for this time, what could be some invitations to embrace that?
