Aston Villa W.F.C.

So we asked Dan Bardell, as a Villa fan, and friend of TalkSport, to come on and give us his thoughts on that.

been quite a turbulent start to the season obviously results haven't gone the way that the club would have wanted and to be honest I don't think the women's team has really gone in the direction the club would have wanted since Carla Ward left since she's gone nothing's particularly felt joined up with Villa women I know some key personnel left behind the scenes as well and it's all felt a little bit scattergun all a little bit made up as you go along and it's Recruitment's been a little bit all over the place and I just don't feel like everyone's travelling in the same direction.

So the next appointment is huge for the club.

It's one that they need to get right.

that took it over the Magic 7,000 mark.

meanwhile Villa women I didn't know this result I'm learning something here I got a draw against away at Brighton after losing their first home game of the season to Manchester City having drawn against Chelsea so I mean the Manchester City result showed you that Chelsea result wasn't really a big indication of any seismic shift in their ability No, but they did buck a trend with the Brighton one by

scoring a last minute equalizer instead of conceding one.

So I think they do look a bit sterner this season, a bit more defensively capable with their Japanese goalkeeper.

Sorensen joined Everton in 2022 and led them to their best ever WSL finish.

The Dane has been working as a technical advisor to the Aston Villa women's team since.

Manchester United started the game away to Fulham and has been heavily criticised by former captain Gary Neville.

He described it as the worst 15 minutes he's ever seen from a United team.
