And so one of the things that we always like to talk about is what does sustainability mean to you and how do you incorporate it into your projects?

Yeah, you know, I think for me, I really kind of take there's so many different ways you can look at sustainability and you can look at it in the buzzword way.

But I think for me, I really kind of take it a little bit down to its most simplistic version.

And to me, it's really does a project actually work over time, you know? Can the building that you're building or rehabbing adapt to a second generation user or a fourth generation user? Does your building allow for the uses in it to change as the neighborhood changes over time? Does the project actually still make financial sense and operational sense years from now? You know, I think for me, I really look at that question and I say like, at its core, sustainability is whether or not a place can continue to work long after the original development team is gone.

Because if it can't, that's how we end up tearing down buildings or making major changes or potentially wiping character off of things that have been there for years.
