How will the Attorney General sort through it all? How would a grand jury, if it goes there, sort through it?
4:32
Well, I think what's critical is that this is not a he said, she said at this point.
4:37
It's a she said, she said.
4:38
These are her words right after the incident versus her words two years later.
4:43
And they are diametrically opposed.
4:44
And I get it.
4:45
I get it.
8:26
She was upset that she was disinvited to the fraternity Halloween party, that she was upset that word was getting around on campus at Cornell University, that what had happened and that she was being portrayed in her words as a, quote, slut.
24:23
Do you agree?
24:26
Not at all, actually.
24:28
But I love you.
24:30
I totally disagree.
24:31
I remember, because I actually, I'm going to correct one of your stats, 38 years.
24:36
I am old AF, and I've been doing this for so long that I've seen trends, you know, since the 80s, and I remember the same arguments being made about video games.
24:44
And I think we quickly dispensed with that and realized, oh, I don't think it's the video games.
28:32
What's going on there?
2:41
Ashley, let's remind people, uh, about what got him in prison.
2:47
Well, the four murders of the University of Idaho students that happened in 2022 were set to be adjudicated a year ago, like now.
2:58
We were prepping a year ago, almost today, for s- you know, a pretty lengthy trial, like three, four-month trial, and Bryan Kohberger, um, was up on four first-degree murder charges with the death penalty in Idaho, um, on the table, and shock to us all, he agreed to a plea bargain.
3:18
Now, don't forget, this guy was a PhD student-
4:37
What did you, what sort of assumptions were you prepared to make based on what he was, what he was going for?
4:42
Well, couple things.
4:43
First of all, uh, I know we were all a little, you know, gobsmacked by the idea that you gave up your right to an appeal.
4:49
What are you saying? You can't have another bite at the apple.
18:43
Hmm
18:43
... and it really seems to reach a lot more people than television.
18:46
And so I just recently atrophied the TV side of my four-decade-long career, and I'm just doing this particular podcast, Drop Dead Serious.
18:54
And I find that it's just, it's just such a more relaxed way.
18:58
I, I, I can tell just by the work that you do.
19:01
Um, we can have conversations.
19:02
We don't have to-
19:17
If people wanna find it, how can they find it?
