6:00
So how do you prepare for a big meeting or a big interviewer?
6:04
It was funny.
6:05
I asked Doug this yesterday because Doug, my husband, I asked him, I said, oh, do you remember interviewing for like Vancouver School Board? What did you do? And like, because we have this interview coming up and I'm like, do I need to? Should I be preparing right now? And then he's like, you know, I just I just be myself.
6:22
And so I've actually now.
6:25
Feeling like we almost...
6:28
Is this bad to say? But don't need to prepare because what you say is actually who you are.
6:34
And so you shouldn't have to pretend to be anybody but who you are.

15:24
And yeah, I flunked completely.
1:05
So first of all, for those who do not know what Woo is, Arlene, what is Woo about?
1:10
Well, Woo started 10 years ago as an initiative to get the women of Oakland together in the same room to feel supported, to get empowered, and to connect with one another and find, you know, celebration and community.
1:27
And now after obviously 10 years, how has it evolved? Evolved to include partnering with various organizations throughout the years in giving back to our community.
1:38
So working with ATIRA, Women's Health Foundation, Cause We Care, and really helping and supporting women in the community.
1:48
And this year for our special 10 year, we have partnered with UBC, Sauter School of Business, and we'll be sponsoring 10 scholarships, which is amazing.

16 MINS LATER

17:50
Yeah, it was great.
17:51
Yeah.
17:52
Supernatural, super, I think from what I got from her was, you know, you just have to be yourself.
1:44
What did you think of, uh, going to his funeral?
1:47
Yeah.
1:47
No, it was really special.
1:48
They had hosted a, a private, uh, funeral, uh, just their intimate family or, um, months ago, and, and they now threw a celebration of, of life about two months after the passing, and it was really nice.
2:01
It was really special because it was a gathering of friends and family, um, and many people that they'd known for decades, and essentially, uh, the children just, um, shared their favorite stories, and the grandchildren, which was even more special.
2:15
So a 12-year-old, 15-year-old, 17-year-old shared their favorite stories of their yeye and how they're gonna remember him and the lessons that, uh, they shared or he shared with them.
2:26
And so it was really touching, really fun, really special.

45 MINS LATER

47:26
[laughs]
