But as you talk to people on the floor, if you talk to legal operations professionals, you've researched the market- What are some of the skill sets, the traits that the professionals today and tomorrow are gonna need to have long, thriving, successful careers in this industry that we both love?
12:16
I wrote an article about this emerging field in 2012.
12:21
It was a feature story for the ACC's magazine, The Docket.
12:24
And I said, based on some information I got from some of my peers, there's this new role.
12:29
It's called chief of staff or COO of the law department.
12:33
And general counsel were starting to pull people with real estate talent or finance talent to come in and help them run the law department more like a business.
12:42
And so at the time, business acumen was essential.
14:10
Yeah.
12:40
So what, what is the original meaning?
12:42
Cats were thought to have some kind of mystical significance because they have such keen senses.
12:47
And before people knew, before there was such a thing as modern science where you could analyze a cat and you could say, "Oh, the cats can use their whiskers to sort of sense things that, that...
12:58
And they have such sharp reflexes." Well, the ancient Egyptians thought that there was something spiritually significant about cats, and sometimes they would be buried with their cats.
13:07
And so cats were thought of to be these, this kind of link between our world, the world of the living and the world of the dead.
13:15
Uh, so then you go a couple thousand years into the future and you're at the Black Death in medieval times and in Europe, and people thought that black cats were unlucky.
13:28
Why? Because they saw black cats wherever there was plague.
17:03
What about salt? You know, you throw salt over your shoulder, and people still do that, and, and it is supposed to bring you good luck or does it ward off bad luck, or what, what is it exactly?
