But where is our common interest for growth and progress and as a bloc, independence? Who is focusing? Who is driving that? And how is that being driven?

Arena MorrisonGUEST
So this is where the BRICS have decided not to necessarily allow one state to particularly call the shots, so to speak, right? I know from the outside looking in, when we see more dominant powers, when we see China, for example, and it's...

Arena MorrisonGUEST
potential in the world, its capacity in the region, its competition with India, when you see Russia's geoeconomic interests as well, you start to wonder, well, okay, What is really the dividend that is paying off with BRICS? As you are saying, shouldn't we be collecting this or shouldn't we be understanding what does collective growth mean? And so if we come back to the beginning of when the BRICS came together, what they wanted to achieve was a more just and equitable global economy.

Arena MorrisonGUEST
That doesn't mean equity, right? um and in that equity it would mean that everyone regardless of their size gets a fair share of that global economy regardless of their capability meanwhile what they really say is let us rather create fair access to this global economy so that you can still compete.

Arena MorrisonGUEST
And what I think a lot of people misunderstand about BRICS is that the BRICS bloc, although it's a kind of bloc that's committed to cooperating, these countries are still inherently competitors.
