What do you think are some of the main challenges that are facing our kids in their schools today?

April GraneyGUEST
Yeah, I think going to school, especially for the first time for these younger kids, it's a completely new environment.

April GraneyGUEST
Whether it's a public school or a private school, you know, they're meeting all kinds of new people.

April GraneyGUEST
They're learning, you know, the structure of the day and the rules of the classroom and how to behave and how to interact with their age group differently.

April GraneyGUEST
And maybe they even run across a bully, you know, bullying and in schools is a big issue that whether that's even in school or online, right.

How do you think, as moms, we can begin to really instill that mindset in our children of that, looking at others in a world that teaches them to really look only at themselves?

Now, what do you hope to-- what do you want kids to walk away with with this book?

April GraneyGUEST
And so every day when I walk in the classroom and I show up for school, I see the impact that how kids treat each other, um, has on each other.

April GraneyGUEST
And I see kids who have experienced a lot of trauma and, you know, sometimes as a result of trauma, their behaviors aren't the most civil, and they may not have the most, um, be the easiest kids to love, and yet I know, I know without a shadow of a doubt that God created each one of them, that they're made in His image, that they're deserving of love and kindness.

April GraneyGUEST
And so for me as a teacher, I, I want to show them that grace and love and kindness, um, that, that Jesus would.

April GraneyGUEST
And so, um, my hope for these kids, you know, I really wanna support families who are putting their kids in school, and sometimes that's a scary thing to do as a parent.
