He is the God that is all other ones or can represent them.

Um, and then, um, like two months later, I, I was listening to a song and, and summoned the serpent, uh, Apep from the Egyptian pantheon.

And, um, he circled the moon like he does in the lore.

And of course I got pictures because why wouldn't I? But, um, yeah, so I was able to verify that at least to me, um, you know, this was good enough infor- this was good enough of an experience for me to be able to form a solid belief that yes, okay, archons are real.

So the, the abstract to this is interesting and talks about how the plague cycle kind of mirrors the Book of Gates.

And why that's important is because in the Book of Gates, when Ra, which Pharaoh is the physical embodiment of Ra on Earth, goes to sleep, he enters the nether world or the Duat, and basically has to go through this process of conquering the opposers, which is Apep in this, and he also has another name I have listed, but I can't remember.

But so he has this journey that he has to go through the nether world where he has this opposing force, and this Apep guy is very much like a serpent, which connects to the very beginning of before the plague starts, and we covered the Tannin and the large serpent or dragon or whatever you want to put in there, but it is this, the same idea here, and he has to conquer this, and that's like the, the setting and the rising of the sun, and he has to encounter the Osirian body and then be raised back through the nether world into the physical world.

Maat is restored, the cosmos is in order, and the sun rises again.

So this is all in the background of the Egyptian thought, and this also connects to what we've been talking about with anti-creation.

Apophis is not vanquished, not by any means.

He's, he's not being coherent.

And Apep, A-P-E-P, was the perpetual arch enemy of all the solar gods appeared in the form of a crocodile.

Now, they had, for instance, a magical ritual that they went through in the temple of Amun-Ra at Thebes.

He was positioned.

But in the second book, the antagonist is Apophis.

Apophis is not merely a god.

He is the primordial serpent of chaos, the literal embodiment of destruction and non-existence that predates the universe itself.

That is terrifying.

You go from stopping a terrorist attack in North America to trying to prevent the heat death of the solar system.

The big leap.

To stop Apophis, Carter and Sadie have to embark on this insane archaeological scavenger hunt to find three scattered sections of the Book of Ra.

Each night, according to Egyptian belief, the sun god Ra travelled through the underworld in a solar boat.

There he faced Apep, the enormous serpent of darkness and destruction.

Apep was not merely another god with a difficult personality.

Apep was the enemy of creation itself, the force trying to stop the sun from rising, and one of Ra's fiercest defenders was Set, armed with a spear, standing at the prow of the sunboat.

Set fought the serpent in the darkness.

The god of storms and disorder became the guardian against a deeper, more absolute disorder.

Torrit had the heavy body of a hippopotamus, the limbs of a lion, the tail of a crocodile.

Her strange form was clear.

That makes sense.

Is Apophis, which is the Egyptian deity of chaos and darkness.

Being the polar opposite of Ra, the sun god.

During the day when Ra was in the sky, Apophis was forced to hide just below the horizon.

So he would kind of circle the earth right beyond where Ra could touch him.

And then when Ra would dip under the horizon, then Apophis could come out and wreak havoc across the earth.

Yeah, he's just depicted as a snake.
