What do you think needs to be done from a government policy level? I believe that you've put in a submission to this gender equity charter for Australian Aviation, for example.
19:07
Yeah, absolutely.
19:09
And just to acknowledge that, yes, the Australian government has been, um, seeking feedback on a gender equity charter, which was outlined in the Aviation White Paper.
19:19
And this charter is very much obviously putting a very strong directive towards particularly the aviation industry to really address the systematic, uh, gender pay gap issues and to find better ways to attract and retain women.
19:36
This is an industry that's obviously long-standing and these issues are, you know, structurally embedded, but it's very clear even with the last reporting from the Workplace Gender Equity Agency that the, uh, gender pay gap is actually going worse, um, in some parts of the aviation sector, and obviously significantly higher than the, the Australian average.
20:00
So the Australian government has come out and said, you know, one of the ways to do that is to make a charter and have signatories to that charter.
20:08
Of course, um, very conscious that the industry is already overwhelmed with a lot of reporting, and I'd always tell government, you know, m- make life easy and don't do duplicating of reporting.
25:09
Do you think something like a hard quota would help or hurt the situation?
