An awesome opportunity for our state's first responders just to be educated on, on how to respond appropriately should a livestock trailer roll over, uh, on the side of the interstate, how to be most effective in helping the animals, uh, getting them to safety.

Annie HaddenGUEST
So Pork Producers have s- partnered, uh, putting on three trainings here this fall in November.

Annie HaddenGUEST
Uh, they're gonna be putting more information out about that on social media and on their website, so, uh, definitely look for those.

Annie HaddenGUEST
They're gonna be partnering with our surrounding states, uh, kinda on those border areas.

You mentioned, uh, beef quality assurance, which you know, uh, with your previous position, a little thing or two about it.

So from a producer standpoint, I just wanna talk about, kinda start with just the quality of beef that we are, we have here in the United States and kinda debunk that myth almost.

Annie HaddenGUEST
Uh, and I think it's important to remind consumers, and as we've kind of mentioned, farmers can be a little hard-headed occasionally and can also be guilty of keeping the farm gate closed, and what I mean by that is not telling their story.

Annie HaddenGUEST
Um, and the story that needs to be told is that even the majority of beef sold in your major retailers, Costco, Sam's, Walmart, is from an American producer.

Annie HaddenGUEST
Uh, the reality is, is that we don't have the bandwidth And the capacity to do a hundred percent locally raised and locally purchased beef through small packing plants and things like that.

Annie HaddenGUEST
Uh, and so the reality for our general consumer is that the beef in the grocery store is safe, wholesome, and likely raised on a farm not very far from where you are.
