Um, you wanna tell us about it?
1:08
Hmm.
1:10
Well, the show was created because I wrote a book of poetry sort of around the time of the pandemic, as so many of us [laughs] dug deep and tried to figure out what it was all about.
1:30
And I noticed within that process, and I really speak to this in all the creatives that are listening in your community, a, a really deep listening out of the hopelessness of that time for what wanted to come through, what wanted to be heard, and that included the doubt, the fear, feeling lost.
1:57
And I started to hear voices kind of coming through that would become the opening lines of poems.
2:08
And I suppose that that's what a lot of people do with the creative process, is they're sitting, they're listening, they're waiting.
2:20
The show, Listening for the Notes, then evolved because I wanted to share the book with the world, which is coming out, uh, in November, and I realized that my inspiration for listening, if I went back to some of the earliest places in my life, probably came from witnessing my father's journey of listening, and I'll tell you what I mean by that.
