With any, I suppose, disappointment or kind of omission, you've got an opportunity to just go, okay, who's been traveling well in training? We've been very lucky to have the likes of a Lois Pearson in terms of that ability to slide across.

So even weeks ago when we were talking about selection, that composition is not like for like.

I think you have a moment just to go, okay, who's been tracking well? Who's been fully in training? And, you know, we're really pleased with a Lois and a Jess in terms of their performances at Wink Attack.

So I think it just gave us a moment to sit with it and go, actually, does it have to be a like for like? No, it doesn't.

Has an England team ever faced so much adversity before a major tournament and do expectations around results need to shift?

And when did you guys find out? And was she in camp with

you? Yep.

So the girls found out a few weeks ago.

So before we came into camp, we were just really honest and open to them in terms of, like I said, something Shani just felt like she couldn't turn down.

And then...

In terms of how the coaching team were going to work, like it was always going to be myself, Liv and Jo on the bench.

So Sharni was going to be kind of more up with our PA, kind of feeding in that respect.

What are your reasons as to why she's not made that 12th?

Yeah, so I think like it's not just me in terms of like the selection panel, like we've got a really robust process.

So to kind of give you a little bit of background, like it's myself, Liv and the head of assessors.

And then we've got a number of assessors that also feed into that.

We have data intelligence from across the season, both internationally.

and like NSL and SSN.

So there's a whole host of information that feeds into those selection points and then the final selection.

How important is it that she's had that connection with Sharni Leighton and Fran over the season?

As you sit here now, do you believe

the squad that you've picked can win it? I'm really confident about this squad.

I think we've got a really beautiful blend in terms of Yes, there's not loads that have been to Commonwealth Games.

That is a reality.

That's a fact.

We've only got three athletes.

However, on the flip side, you've got that excitement, that vibrance in terms of people that have never been to a Commonwealth Games.

Did you learn from South Africa? And was it right, in hindsight, to go and the load put on the players?
