Would you mind summarizing the topic, giving us the thesis?
1:54
Sure.

So, um, like a lot of people in game narrative, I have a background in the performing arts, um, if that also wasn't evident from like the 30 seconds you've heard me talk already.
2:04
Um, so before I, um, before I made video games, I trained extensively to be specifically a, um, stage performer and a, and an opera singer at that.
2:15
That was my like main avenue.

And, um, one of the skills that we are taught when we are learning to engage with a character is, um, character interviewing, and that is everything from sitting down with a character and asking like, "Who are you?" Like, "What are you about?" And the idea is that by asking the character these questions, um, and sort of quote unquote listening for the character's answer, you have this n- cool like creative process with the character where they also help make themselves.

So I have brought this technique from my background into games, and it's just a natural part of writing for me.
