I give up.

And then you just, "I give up.

This is it.

This is it." No.

[laughs] Right? You are probably maybe going to feel bad for a little bit, but then you're gonna start thinking, "Okay, but I can't go to my boss and just complain and just leave it there.

I need to go to my boss with, 'Hey, here's what we tried, and here is what we're gonna try next in order to solve for that.'" Right? You're going to go in with a solution.

So approach your job search the way you would approach your job.

Yeah.

But before we get started, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself, your experience and how long you've been in the career coaching space?

I have started the career diet actually exactly six years ago in July 2020.

But before that, I was in the recruitment phase and I was just naturally helping people.

people around me friends and family so i feel like i have been coaching for close to a decade but my journey actually started with really my own struggles figuring out how to how to job search and figuring out what is right for me and what path is right for me and i am someone who moved abroad in my early adulthood and I moved to Canada to do business school.

And I remember that they would tell us all the things that you hear, right? Like you have to network and you have to do coffee chats, but no one actually told us and taught us how to actually do it.

So I felt like I was working very hard towards my goals, but I wasn't really getting anywhere.

So I really struggled in the beginning.

And so that one question can literally ruin the rest of the interview for you because you didn't really solve the root cause problem of you communicating your value because you just memorized some questions.

So tell us a little bit more about you, your story, and what brought you to where you are.

Uh, I definitely have been on every single angle and side of recruitment, and I was someone who started my career when I graduated business school abroad here in Canada, and I had no idea what I was doing and how to do it.

And, you know, everyone was telling me, "Oh, you gotta network," but no one was teaching me how to do it.

So I was just really trying to navigate this on my own, and I very much know what it feels like to just, you know, submit applications online, and then go for an interview, and just your kind of classic approach, and not really know, "Okay, well, why are some people next to me and my peers getting those roles and I'm not getting those interviews? I know they're not better than me.

[chuckles] We, you know, sat next to each other for a year in business school." So I remember really questioning that and actually questioning myself, "Hey, is there something wrong with me?" And then I, um, ended up getting into a career in sales, actually, and that's what pushed me to actually learn how to network, how to meet people, how to have those conversations.

And that's where I, firsthand, still being a job seeker at that point, started seeing how hiring actually happens [chuckles] and how all of a sudden opportunities were kind of appearing in front of me from really me meeting people organically.

And people would say, "Hey, you know what? Let's meet for lunch.

Again, back to challenges and priorities, back to anything that's coming down the pipeline.
