What does it feel like for you kind of being almost in a mentorship role with, with, uh, Megan and Haley heading into the season?
38:23
Yeah, I feel as a veteran it's your job to help your teammates as much as you can.
38:28
So, in my situation is to make sure that they're game ready.
38:31
Uh, obviously I'm probably not gonna play every single game this season, so I, I'll share all my experience with them, all my knowledge, and I'll make sure that they know that they are on the team for a reason, that they're good goalies, uh, that they have a lot to bring, they have a lot to contribute to this team, and we'll need them if we want to have success.
38:49
Uh, so yeah, as you get older, often you kind of get thrown in a veteran, in a mentorship role.
38:55
Uh, that's just kind of part of the job, and I, I love that part.
38:58
Uh, it's fun.
40:20
[laughs]
37:19
What's it been like to have her as a teammate to lead the way on many different levels with your club team and for the country as well?
37:26
Yeah, I've been teammates with her since 2015 on the national team level, and she's been one of the greatest...
37:32
She's been the greatest teammate I could ever ask for.
37:35
She has definitely challenged me on and off the ice to be a better athlete, a better goalie.
37:40
Every day you show up with her, you know, she's just... trying to win and you have to give it your best every day as well and uh she's a fighter there's nothing she hasn't done yet like you mentioned she score goals in big moments she blocks the shots uh she does all the little things even when people aren't watching if it's in practice and obviously this year was pretty challenging for her with significant injuries but She always steps up.
38:05
She always shows up.
38:06
You know, she's going to put her body on the line.
40:09
How did you become a goalie? How did all that happen? And were your parents cool about it? Because some parents don't really want to be a goaltending parent.
58:07
Was it game three when you, you and Pooh got interviewed and you were, like, chugging beers, which was pretty, [laughs] pretty epic?
58:13
Um, yeah, so we actually watched the first one at a pub, so game two, the day after we came back.
58:19
So cell ate in Ottawa.
58:21
That was pretty fun.
58:22
Made it back to Montreal that day and we're like, "Okay, let's go to pub, watch the game." Obviously, uh, watched that there.
58:28
We had a lot of fun as well.
58:29
Then it was the pool party.
61:08
Yeah.
30:58
Yeah.
30:59
If there's something funny that happened before, I just make sure I remind them that that was bad or funny or whatever.
31:04
And it's just kinda keep the things light, and know that, like, we play the best sport in the world.
31:08
Like, we just wanna have fun.
31:10
Uh, we just, we get to play, like, with our best friends on the ice, so it's like, how lucky are we?
34:07
Can you just speak to her game, and um, what impresses you most about the way she plays?
34:11
She's a competitor.
34:12
She's a fighter.
105:01
