So there are really norms about sports and masculinity.

But when it comes to women are expected to be sensitive, men are expected to be stoic, I found one recent article where a research group analysed English tabloid newspapers, The Sun and the Mirror, when they covered all sport articles during European football championships and Wimbledon in 2021.

And they described and analyzed how men and women athletes were portrayed.

So I found that interesting because it parallels how we saw how women with pain were portrayed in scientific articles.

So one of the themes of these, how athletes were portrayed, that was men with injuries that were described as heroic and brave.

Although I've not seen an article on that yet, but maybe there's some mileage there as well to compare.
