What inspired you to write Waiting in the Waves?

Well, Oh, what inspired me? I never set out to write a book.

That's just the honest truth.

I don't do well with grammar and words are not my thing.

Those were my excuses.

But with Waiting in the Waves, a book a mentor introduced me to was Seven Core Issues in Adoption and Permanency, which for those of you who aren't familiar with it, I believe it was published pre-2020, maybe 2018.

And it talks about that every life stage, developmental milestone, adoptees cycle through these seven different issues.

What does getting dressed actually look like? How does someone begin living as a daughter when their nervous system has only ever known orphan?
