No, they're just...

Yeah, I mean, we were talking about it the other day.

We've never really chased the dragon to be like, we're going to create 10 albums in our lifetime or whatever.

We have this year, we've got to make another one.

I think what's important for us is... to have something that sparks the inspiration to want to have the conversation, maybe we can do this again.

That's what this record, we're in Paris and we finished a world tour called The Living Room Sessions.

And it was inviting people back into our living room style and telling stories of when we were just figuring it out at the beginning.

I mean, inviting people, the concept of it was inviting people back into the living room.

you know, we were just kids.

We didn't really, we didn't really know what we were doing.

We were just, you know, we basically journaling and, and writing chapters of, um, what we'd gone through at that time, which is just being, you know, kids looking at the world, um, with wonder, that wanderlust, you know, um, and, uh, Yeah, we finished up in Paris and we had such a cool time and we got invited out to this studio called Miravelle.

And we went out there and it's just such a magical place.

You know, bands like Pink Floyd and The Cure.

You two are very seasoned travellers.

Yeah, the cool thing making this record, we came off a tour in Paris and we got invited out to this beautiful studio called Miravelle.

And I think Julia and I were sort of workhorses, but we wanted to enjoy our time whilst we recorded and not sort of bust out a block of time and sort of do it in that sort of pressure scope.

We really enjoyed just drinking wine and being in the Mediterranean We're over in Mexico City having fun and in Japan, all those places where we reference those beautiful landmarks and cultures there.

They're a part of our lives for a moment and I think that's what makes this record special.

It's sort of a bit of a salute to our travels.

After making music with each other for 20 years, do you still learn new stuff about how each other writes when you're doing an album?

I think it's yeah I mean any sort of relationship um it's you're figuring out that there's a it's a dance right it's that proximity of knowing when to step back and when someone needs help you step forward I think um the writing process is sort of a byproduct of how you how you sort of work as a team um and in real life like in real life situations if you have each other's back it's All those things add up to a good partnership in what we do and we've been doing it for a while now.

So how did it not, like, click until earlier that this is what it was supposed to be? I guess you just,

you know, we grew up together and I think we wanted to do our own thing.

Of course.

You know, we also wrote differently, like our styles and...

I think it wasn't until we got offered this deal together that we sort of thought, oh, maybe we should give it a go, you know, and see what happens working together.

We have other projects and we do that in between working together.

And I think that keeps us coming back to it.

Like, if someone's awful, would you just sit there thinking, pitch? Off.

So are you both a big fan of karaoke?

Yeah, I think what's beautiful about the karaoke bar is you have all walks of life in there.

You have people that have just had the roughest day to the people that are just having a fun night.

And there's a communion in it.

Everyone's sort of there for that communion.

And you've got to

But you

either have it or you don't, right? I think the worse the better.

When you put an album out and you're putting music out and you've had five singles come out, you know, from when you dropped Karaoke Bar, do you pay attention? Do you listen to what people are saying or you just kind of step back and go, it's out, it's yours and I don't need to know?

The coolest thing is when you're down at the post office and, you know, someone bumps into you and it's a bit more those moments where people are stoked on it.

But, yeah, watching it all from all perspectives.

Are you saying when

you say is the most important thing for young artists to focus on?

I think those formative years are really important to try not to jump ahead of where you're at.

I mean, for us, when we were playing in pubs and, you know, those people having a slap on the pokies and yelling out, play ACDC.

Julia and I, we sort of, we came up with this thing.

So we're in for a treat today.

This is our first time.

We've been traveling a lot lately.

And yeah, we haven't seen each other for a while.

It would have been about a year and a half ago, I reckon.
