In what way do you think it's been blown out of proportion?
2:45
Well, there are several reasons why I think that.

And, you know, it, it, it came essentially from the Environmental Land Management Scheme, um, and coupled with Natural England's sort of contention that the Dartmoor area is being overgrazed, and that it's harming biodiversity.

And it was just saying that, you know, at, at the time an average of around 75% of the, um, [lips smack] or there was a huge percentage of, of sort of animals that were grazing on that land that needed to be removed from that land.
3:25
And, you know, from that, from having said that, various people have suggested that the culling would be, of these ponies, would be the easiest thing to do.

And I, I, it's, it's not certainly something that Natural England has said explicitly, but they have outlined the problem that grazing is scarce, that things have become difficult, that the land on which the ponies are, um, living on has become overgrazed and become smaller as well.

You know, it, there, there's mult- multiple reasons why the land is not pro- producing or providing the right amount of grazing for these ponies.
