It was just the norm of who I was as a person, even within the family structure that, you know, I was taking phone c- And it's funny how quiet your phone goes all of a sudden, you know.

Um, mate, yeah, it, it's almost, um, it's almost surreal.

Like, you, you kinda, you, you, you go, "Is that me in that sort of image?" Because, you know, I, I grew up watching those images.

You know, that's my childhood of me watching, you know, a manager walking around a ground with a trophy and, and, and, you know, with, with thousands of supporters there and, you know, and now you're that person.

And, um, it is surreal.

And, and look, Celtic was such a, a, you know, like w- everyone's got sort of bucket list.

That's like, that's like Steve Silvani, you signed up, he said, "Sorry, sorry Ange, I'm out." [laughs]

He hardly played, right, for a couple of years.

He doesn't even look like a sportsman, right? I'm going, "What the..." And I remember having discussions with people going, you know, "I don't understand the AFL.

They have these guys on these lists and they never play." And I go, "He's never gonna play," right? And it, Maxy Gawn doesn't even know me.

Like, I've never even met the guy.

But I, I've watched his career and, and I've gone, "Wow, man.

That's, that's just brilliant" That a young guy who obviously, you know, had to do some growing in terms of his body in such a tough environment- Uh, the AFL and, and especially for big guys, you know, they mature a bit later.

And, uh, you know, we won the first leg one-nil, but we were on fumes by then, so, you know, Liverpool battered us.

I said, "We're out of the, the sort of Carabao Cup." I said, "Okay, we're, we're 16 points from relegation.

That isn't gonna happen.

We've got a real narrow path to, to winning something, right? For this football club," which we know what that means, but also Champions League, Champions League money.

So again, I'm obsessive about the game.

How do you view it with the experience that you've got?

And for what reason? You know, what, what was the reason for such a major pivot? So Thomas is walking in and what's his, you know, what's his objective? What, what's the club's objective? I mean, at the start of the year, they sort of said compete on all fronts.

Well, the club hasn't competed on all fronts for a very long time.

And you also... you know, the most influential person at the club for the last 20 years is also going.

So if you're gonna do such a major pivot, then you gotta understand there's gonna be some instability there.
