About three years after the 1985 run at Merriweather, I met the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen while I was on the set of a commercial in Baltimore.
43:52
So I asked her out.
43:53
Turns out she grew up about a mile from Merriweather Post, and she's about four years younger than me, so she would have been a teenager when the dead were in town between 83, 84, and 85.
44:06
And when I told her I had attended all those shows to see the dead, she asked if I was one of the crazy deadheads bathing in the fountain at the Columbia Mall.
44:19
I assured her I was not, and now 38 years later, we're joyously married still.

After the great jam and, and the really strong Fire, they were getting to the outro of Fire, where Garcia's kind of bringing it home, and they suddenly went into hyperdrive.
41:25
Andy Perine left us this story to really drive the point home.
41:28
At Hershey Park, it was the black clouds.
41:31
Man, it was, like, super scary, the, the weather was so threatening.
41:35
But beyond the weather, it was, it was the song choices that were knocking us all out.
41:39
Um, you know, Bird Song and It Comes a Time in the first set.
41:42
I toured all throughout the early '80s.
41:44
There was some great playing and, and some great jamming, but there was something going on about these song choices and the pairings in the summer of '85, and there was just this, this general sense.
