And that, to me, sounds like elitists essentially trying to tell me what I should or should not be able to have access to.

Well, I mean, remember, Anthropic kept some of their technology away from the Pentagon because they were worried, what if there's an incoming missile? Do we get to decide whether to shoot it down rather than the Pentagon? It's just Well, it's scary kooky to coin a phrase between us.

Andy KesslerGUEST
But, you know, so yes, in fact, even I remember there was a conversation, I think it was Sam Altman, who said, you know, we need to give this technology to the Chinese and the Russians to balance out the U.S. And you go, well, who are you working for here? What are your goals? But I think there's a somewhat simpler explanation of some of the rhetoric.

Andy KesslerGUEST
You know, Anthropix founder Amodi came out with a paper recently about safety and stuff, asking to be regulated.

Andy KesslerGUEST

Okay, so two, three years from now, where do you see all of this being? I mean, do you think Americans come to understand the benefits of this? Do you think that the United States is still on? But I look at it and go, "No, you're wrong." So enterprises are still reluctant to use it for customer service and- and things like that.

Andy KesslerGUEST
They say it's now a $500 million business and growing like a weed and that's great, because there are certain areas where you can use AI to do the frontline customer service, so you don't need to hire...

Andy KesslerGUEST
Now that wasn't necessarily hires in the US, it might have been hires at call centers in India and- and anywhere else.

Andy KesslerGUEST
So I think it's gonna take another five years before corporate America really says, "Okay." Uh, I mean, even personal computers didn't make their way into, uh, corporate America for a decade.

Andy KesslerGUEST
I mean, it would grow, but the wholesale buying off of, "Okay, we need to revamp everything we're doing for personal computers," and then, um, a client server, and then webify.
