Can you tell us a little bit about the ethical considerations there?
14:46
Yeah.
14:46
So some of the is- ethical considerations in relation to pediatrics is, uh, uh, trials or studies that would be done on, let's say, teenagers under the age of 16, um, and how much information they are able to understand, how much should be provided for them.
15:01
Uh, and in fact, uh, I would argue, as Simone has done, is that actually a teenager should probably get the same information leaflet if it's well-written because it should be understandable to them.
15:11
The other thing that I have seen, which is actually very helpful, is quite a number of the sponsors actually have produced videos and explanations, some of which are really good as a way of trying to explain to people what a, a trial involves without necessarily having to read dense pages of text without any pictures.
15:27
Nonetheless, it is important that people understand what they're getting into.
15:30
There used to be that big im- argument about whether consent is known as informed consent, but actually you can't really consent if you don't understand what information is being given to you.
19:32
Mm-hmm.
