Andrew Alekna

Oct 1, 2026

4:29
[laughs] Yes.
4:29
Um, and the other one was, was from a young chiropractor.
4:33
They'd just graduated.
4:34
They loved CrossFit, and they were like, "What, how," you know, "How did you get this opportunity?" And so I told them how I got this opportunity, and it started by me looking after a local gym owner who was good enough to make, like, the national competition or, or regionals.
4:50
And so I paid out of my own pocket to go with him to regionals and, and look after him there so that he could compete at his best.
5:00
So I think he came, um, 30th or whatever, you know? But he and I have a wonderful friendship and, um, you know, that was showing up for a friend was, like, that was my goal.
5:12
And then same thing happened the next year.

12 MINS LATER

16:49
Mm-hmm.
15:46
And I'm like, yes.
15:48
And I now coach somebody who was a patient of mine when they were 15.
15:53
And they've graduated.
15:55
They took a job with another coaching client of mine who's a scale client.
16:01
And they're crushing it.
16:02
And it's like this Cinderella story.
16:05
My tech CA, she was a patient first, started studying chiropractic.
18:13
why did nobody tell me this? Why aren't they telling me this?
8:59
So I think Syntropy is a great option out there as well.
9:03
Yeah.
9:03
And, you know, I think...
9:06
Kind of building on this conversation, probably the greatest tip is for you to stop perceiving your size as a disadvantage.
9:16
I still remember the moment I learned that it wasn't about size.
9:21
It was the end of fourth year heading into my final year.
9:24
I went on a charity trip to India.

5 MINS LATER

14:38
Yeah.
6:57
always been that way for you?
7:00
Yeah, it pretty much has.
7:02
Obviously, like there's different iterations of it, but it was just something that I picked up.
7:07
I probably shouldn't admit this, but I did my first neck adjustment in first year.
7:10
I was dating somebody who was further along the studying pipeline and they wanted an adjustment.
7:18
I think they were in fifth year at the time.
7:21
And I'm like, well, okay, can you show me how to do it? And so they, they set up, you know, we were, we were at home and we're like, okay, so you set up and then I did it and I nailed it first go.

7 MINS LATER

14:51
like a
29:30
[laughs]
29:30
So, well, you know, it's, it's funny you add the, "If they want," because I don't really think I know anyone, and I, I just, I don't know that I could know anyone that is comfortable with, you know, always being stressed about money, not getting ahead, not being comfortable in their circumstance.
29:47
Whether that's what they...
29:48
You know, I, I hear stories of people wanting to rent, um, you know, forever nowadays and, um, you know, not be tied down to a house, but then I hear people like myself, we wanna buy a property.
29:59
We wanna have a great family home that's stable and secure.
30:02
But I can't imagine anybody being like, "Yeah, I'm happy with not being financially successful for the rest of my life." Now, one of the things that I've done a lot of work on is sort of mindset around what money actually means.
30:15
With the chiropractors that you've been able to help, like you said, phenomenal at helping our community, have you noticed kind of a pattern that they don't have their mindset around money and wealth and income right? Have you noticed that?

8 MINS LATER

38:50
So getting that balance right from an education and just seeing the different options that are available can be really helpful for people in being confident to take those decisions and move forward.
6:58
And by also recognizing that you will become the ceiling for everyone if you don't do what Andrew just pointed out there, which is create a appetite for everyone to grow, recognizing that your ego, by everyone else winning, you're winning as well, right?
7:15
Yeah.
7:16
And conversely, this, you know, in prep for our quarterly board meeting that we just had recently, I was going through some of our KPIs and I was like, "This KPI hasn't been met.
7:26
People aren't doing their jobs." And I was filthy about it, and then I had to stop and re- again reevaluate my ego and be like, "Well, hang on.
7:34
Did you give them a system and a process, and properly train them so that they could actually complete that KPI?" And I was like, "Nope, I didn't." Um, [laughs] and I had to again check my ego and go-
11:09
Mm-hmm.
11:10
You let them down because you didn't pull them up and keep them accountable back then.
11:14
It's no different to your team.
9:58
So.
9:59
Yeah, we had a similar experience.
10:02
You know, one of our other core values is hustle, right? Like, and I think, you know, you talk to most TRP docs, that's right up there.
10:10
So that means that you're not really looking for someone that wants to just stay in like third gear and just kind of coast.
10:17
I want my team to run in fifth gear constantly.
10:19
All the time.
10:20
Like that's, that's the gear I'm running in when I'm in practice.
12:04
Like, did you naturally know how to do that? Or did you have a little bit of a learning curve with like being able to speak directly into that? I
11:14
Yeah.
11:14
But it's...
11:15
I remember having a patient come to, come in one evening.
11:18
She rung up, and her mum had had a mental episode, like, quite a, quite a severe one.
11:24
Police were involved, all that kind of stuff.
11:27
She came in.
11:27
She said, "I, I don't know why I'm here.

9 MINS LATER

20:52
Yeah.
9:15
Yes.
9:16
But there's this saying in CrossFit that if you're the strongest and the fittest in your gym, you're in the wrong gym.
9:23
And when you're a principal chiropractor and you're always the energy powerhouse of your practice, you got to go to these live events where people are at least on the same energy level with you, if not higher, so that you can recharge your own chiropractic batteries.
9:39
Because it's tough to keep grunting your practice forward off your energy and people are like, what do we do? And they're drawing that energy out of you.
9:47
And so if you're not at the immersions, the innate summits, all that kind of stuff, your candle burns down pretty quick.
9:55
So that was great.
9:56
And then the idea of whoever's on your table at the time is meant for you.
14:24
Or maybe it's like, hey, I've got eight people on my team and I've never brought all of us together and I'm going to go all in and bring everyone together.
