Wow.So yeah, uh, that leads naturally into what is your, uh, interest in and connection with voodoo as a cultural practice, and, and what led to wanting to make a film that's so strongly dependent on it?

Um, for me, um, growing up my grandmother used to tell me, um, stories, uh, in the genre.

[laughs] And so as a young person hearing these kind of stories, it would freak you the hell out.

And, um, and we, Andrew and I, when we started partnering and doing a lot of short films together, we were main- our mainstay was the action genre for the most part.

And, um, we filmed a horror short called The Trap that's on, uh, Prime Video right now, um, with a co- co- with a, another partner of, of ours that we've done work before, Charlie Alejandro, she directed it.

And while we were in, um, production of the film, of the short, um, one of the, um, ca- uh, crew members found a voodoo doll in the attic, and it just freaked everybody out.
